Buyer guide
How buying on Japan Retro Camera Wholesale works.
A short guide to the quote-on-request flow, pricing, shipping, the grading scale, and returns. Sellers and buyers transact directly on the platform; His50s LLC operates the marketplace but is not a party to any sale.
1
Getting started
Japan Retro Camera Wholesale is a B2B platform. Registration is open to business entities — camera shops, wholesalers, and importers. Individual collectors are not eligible.
Sign-up takes about two minutes. You provide your company name, country, and contact details, then verify your email. There is no membership fee.
Sellers join by referral only. If you are a Japanese camera dealer interested in selling on the platform, please use our contact form.

The quote-on-request flow
Prices are quoted per request rather than fixed. This lets each seller offer their best price for the specific items and quantity you want.
1. Browse
Search by maker, model, grade, or seller. Each listing shows grade, condition notes, year, accessories, and stock quantity at a glance.
2. Add to cart
Each quote is from a single seller. The minimum is three items from the same seller per quote. You can keep parallel carts with different sellers.
3. Submit a quote request
Send your cart to the seller. The seller receives a notification and prepares pricing for the specific items in your request.
4. Receive the quote
Quotes are valid for 7 days. Accept or reject within that window. If you do not respond, the quote expires automatically.
5. Pay & receive
Pay by the method the seller presents (bank transfer or Wise). Shipment, tracking, and order status are visible from your account dashboard. Confirm receipt once the goods arrive.
Can't find what you need? Post a Request.
If the item you need isn't listed, post an open Request from /account/requests. All approved sellers are notified; any seller who can source the item will respond directly through the platform.
Open Requests are useful for hard-to-find models, specific accessories, or bulk sourcing requests.
3
Pricing & payment
All prices on the platform are quoted in USD. The seller sets the per-item price and the shipping fee for your order.
When the seller sends a quote, it includes payment instructions. Common methods are bank transfer and Wise; the seller chooses which to offer.
His50s LLC operates the platform but is not a party to any sale. Payments go directly from you to the seller. We do not hold or route funds.
4
Shipping & customs
All orders ship from Japan. Depending on the seller and destination, the carrier may be FedEx, DHL, or EMS.
Shipments are made on DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) terms. You are responsible for customs duties, import VAT/GST, customs clearance fees, and any other public charges in your country.
Quoted prices and invoice amounts do not include duties or import taxes. These are paid by you directly to the carrier or customs authority when the shipment arrives.
If you refuse a shipment due to unpaid duties, or if customs detains or disposes of the goods, the resulting costs (shipping, duties, disposal, etc.) are yours to bear.
Neither His50s LLC nor the seller can guarantee customs determinations, duty amounts, or clearance times in any destination country.

Grading scale
Every listing uses the same 7-tier grading scale across all sellers, so you can compare condition consistently.
- Top Mint
- Unused condition. Equivalent to S-rank in the Jライズ inspection standard.
- Mint
- Like new. Essentially no signs of use.
- Near Mint
- Minimal signs of use; cosmetically near perfect.
- Excellent
- Light wear consistent with careful use; fully functional.
- Very Good
- Moderate wear; fully functional. Cosmetic marks expected.
- As-Is
- Sold as shown. May have flaws; details in the listing notes.
- For Parts/Junk
- Not guaranteed to function. Sold for parts, repair, or display.
6
Returns
If a product has a defect, contact the seller through the chat function of the order and submit a return request. Returns are handled at the item level, so you can return only the specific items affected.
The seller proposes a refund using one of three methods:
- Bank transfer — refund sent back to your bank account
- Wise — refund via Wise to the account you specify
- Store credit (coupon) — usable for future purchases from the same seller
You can review and accept or reject the proposal. Once accepted, the refund is arranged between you and the seller. His50s LLC keeps records of credit balances but does not hold or route funds and does not guarantee refund delivery.
Open return requests are visible at /account/returns after sign-in.
