Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how His50s LLC, the operator of “Japan Retro Camera Wholesale”, handles personal information. Payment is made directly between buyers and sellers; we do not collect or store payment card information.

Article 1 Operator

The operator of the Service and the entity responsible for handling personal information is:

Article 2 Information We Collect

In providing the Service, we collect the following information:

  1. Account information: email address; password (we do not store it in plain text — our authentication provider stores it in hashed form); if you sign in with Google, the identifier and email address of that account.
  2. Profile information: Buyers — company name, country, contact person’s name, contact email, phone number, website URL. Sellers — shop/display name, legal entity name, contact email, ship-from region, profile text.
  3. Transaction information: the content of quote requests, quotes, and orders; chat messages; shipping addresses; tracking numbers; and the content of return requests.
  4. Access information: IP address, browser/device information, and browsing/usage data collected via cookies and similar technologies (see Article 6).

Note that payment is made directly from the Buyer to the Seller (non-intermediation model); we do not intermediate payment and do not collect or store payment information such as credit card numbers (Terms of Service, Articles 4 and 5).

Article 3 Purposes of Use

We use the collected personal information for the following purposes:

  1. Registration, authentication, and management of accounts;
  2. Matching Sellers and Buyers and providing the venue for transactions (quotes, orders, chat, returns);
  3. Communications regarding transactions, identity verification, and inquiries (including sending transactional emails);
  4. Preventing and responding to fraud and violations of the Terms;
  5. Improving the quality of the Service and analyzing usage;
  6. Responding as required by law.

Article 4 Provision to Third Parties

  1. By the nature of the Service, we disclose necessary information between Sellers and Buyers for the purpose of forming and performing transactions (e.g., providing a shipping address to the Seller after an order is placed; displaying shop names and contact details). By using the Service, users consent to this.
  2. Except as set out above, or as required by law or with the user’s consent, we do not provide personal information to third parties.
  3. To the extent necessary to operate the Service, we entrust the handling of information to the external service providers listed in Article 5.

Article 5 External Services / Processors

We use the following external services to operate the Service. The servers of these providers may be located outside Japan (see Article 7).

  • Application hosting — Vercel Inc.
  • Database & authentication — Supabase
  • Transactional email — Resend
  • Sign-in (optional) — Google LLC (Google OAuth)
  • Web analytics — Google LLC (Google Analytics; see Article 6)

Payment is made directly between users (e.g., a Wise link presented by the Seller); we are not involved in payment processing.

Article 6 Cookies and Analytics

  1. The Service uses cookies, for example to maintain your login session.
  2. The Service uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand and improve usage. GA4 collects access information using cookies and similar technologies; such information is collected in a form that does not directly identify individuals. Google’s handling of such information is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
  3. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; however, some features of the Service may then be unavailable.

Article 7 Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Data

In connection with the external services in Article 5, users’ personal data may be stored or processed on servers located outside Japan (e.g., in Singapore). We endeavor to ensure that appropriate protection is maintained at the transfer destination.

Article 8 Security Measures

We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and to otherwise manage it safely, including access-rights management, encryption of communications (HTTPS), and protection of credentials by our authentication provider.

Article 9 Retention Period

We retain personal information for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use. Transaction records may be retained for a period appropriate to statutory retention obligations and the need to handle disputes. After withdrawal, we may retain certain information for a period to the extent necessary for legal compliance, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention.

Article 10 Requests for Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc.

Users may request that we disclose, correct, add to, delete, suspend the use of, or stop the third-party provision of their personal information. Please submit such requests via the contact point in Article 1. We will respond in accordance with applicable law after verifying identity.

Article 11 Changes to this Policy

We may change this Policy. If we make a material change, we will notify users by posting on the Service or by email. The amended Policy takes effect when posted on the Service.

Article 12 Governing Law

This Policy shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan.
